YOUR GENEROSITY FUELS LIFE CHANGE!

You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. | 2 Corinthians 9:7-8

THE HEART OF GENEROSITY

We don't give because God needs our money, and we don't give because the church needs our money. It's so much bigger than that.

We give because Jesus knew, what we all know, that money has the power to control our lives. In fact, that's so true that Jesus actual said that where your money is, there your heart is as well.

As we grow in generosity, we grow in our trust of who God is in our lives.

WHY WE GIVE

All throughout scripture we see God inviting His people into a lifestyle of generosity. We give out of obedience to His word, and that obedience makes a difference in our lives and the lives of the people around us.

The Bible teaches the principle of the tithe. The word tithe in the scripture means “tenth” or ten percent. We believe that as Christians we are called to return ten percent of our income to the Lord through the local church.

Malachi 3:10 says: "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it."

Anthem Church is 100% funded by people like you who decide to leverage their resources for something bigger than themselves; to inspire and equip people to follow Jesus! Every dollar goes directly to ministry that impacts people.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do we give?
The greatest act of love and generosity was God giving his son, Jesus, for us. Giving our time, talents, and money is simply our natural response to an understanding of the generosity of a good God.
What is a tithe and what is an offering?
“A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.” | Leviticus 27:30 (NIV)

We are stewards, not owners, of what God has entrusted to us. Therefore, tithing is bringing back what is God’s to God, and He entrusts us with the remainder to use appropriately.

A Tithe is a mathematical term and literally means 10%. The Principle of First instructs us to bring the tithe first.

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.” | Malachi 3:10 (NIV)

Jesus said that we ought to bring the tithe.

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.” | Matthew 23:23 (NIV)

Any amount above 10% is considered an offering to God. This type of giving is over and above the tithe and should be done with cheerfulness.
What is Anthem's Accountability?
Anthem Church is governed by a Board of Directors and led by staff, with clear financial oversight in place to ensure accountability and wise stewardship. A Stewardship Team meets quarterly to review and track church expenses, helping maintain transparency and responsibility in how funds are managed.

In addition, an outside bookkeeping company partners with our staff, Board of Directors, and Stewardship Team to provide ongoing financial reporting and accountability.

We'd love to have a conversation with you to hear your story and help you figure out how you can continue to make eternal impact here in Gainesville and beyond. "We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully." | Romans 12:6-8
