There are plenty of opportunities to plug in and begin serving at Anthem. Our hope is that you build community, make a difference in our city, and help us change the world with the hope of the Gospel.
What We Believe About Serving
Taken from our Something More series in January of 2026, our Lead Pastor, Jon Birkmire, goes through what it means if you've been following Jesus for a while and your faith has started to feel like nothing more than sermons and songs, you might be wondering, what's next? We explored that question together as we ended this powerful series.
Volunteer teams
Waumba Land · Preschool
Care for children 6 weeks–Pre-K and show them how much Jesus loves them, so parents can be fully present in the gathering.
UpStreet · Elementary
Lead K–5th graders to Jesus through weekly teaching, music, large-group games, and small-group discussion.
Transit · Middle School
Help students navigate their most formative years and discover a faith of their own where they know they matter and belong.
InsideOut · High School
Create a safe place for high schoolers to learn how to approach life's challenges through the truths of the Bible.
Guest Services
Create a welcoming environment by greeting, serving, and connecting with everyone who comes through the doors each week.
Hospitality
Set the table and serve our guests, volunteers, and team, creating an excellent, welcoming experience every Sunday.
Parking
Be the first hello and the last goodbye, directing traffic and welcoming guests as the first point of contact for Anthem.
Production
Run lighting, audio, and video graphics to help create a unique worship experience. No previous experience required.
Safety
Help provide a safe, distraction-free environment so the physical, emotional, and spiritual safety of every guest is protected.
Worship
Use music to create a worshipful environment and lift up the name of Jesus. An additional audition follows your application.
Serve Throughout The Week
Serving the local body and community comes in many forms throughout the week. If you are looking for practical ways to serve this local body of believers in ways the Lord has gifted you, here are some great options.
Lead a Group
Open your home or your life to a group of people doing life together. Leading a group is one of the most impactful ways to help others grow in community and faith.

Frequently Asked Questions
What happens after I apply to serve at Anthem Church?+
Once your application is reviewed and processed, you'll be placed on a volunteer team and your Team Lead will reach out with details and training. Some teams require a background check and a short interview before training is scheduled. After you've completed training, you'll be scheduled to serve.
How often will I be scheduled to serve at Anthem Church?+
Each volunteer team operates on its own rotation, ranging from every Sunday to once a month, with some weekday opportunities available too. Anthem wants you to find the right balance between serving and attending, and you can always block out dates when you're unavailable.
Can I still attend a service if I'm serving that Sunday?+
Yes, Anthem Church wants you fully present both while you're serving and while you're attending. Because of that, volunteers are encouraged to serve at one service and attend the other.
How do I know which volunteer team to join at Anthem Church?+
