baptism

Baptism is one of the most powerful ways we can carry the name of Jesus to the world.

What is
Baptism?

Baptism is a public celebration of moving from death to life through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that baptism is one of the most powerful ways we can carry the name of Jesus to the world, and the first step of obedience, as we follow the example of Jesus through baptism.

Baptism itself does not make us a believer in Christ, but rather a way of saying to the world that our relationship with Jesus, and our faith in Him, has already begun. Baptism symbolizes that our old self is gone (going under the water) and our new self has come (coming above the water) and that we have been made alive in Christ.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is baptism?
Jesus was baptized. Since then, millions of his followers have followed his example. Baptism is a way for you to do the same and participate in a common experience with Jesus followers around the world. Baptism is a way to go public with your faith to show others that you have started a personal relationship with Jesus. Baptism is not necessary for salvation. It symbolizes the new life you began when you started following Jesus. It symbolizes your old life dying (going under the water) and your new life (coming out of the water).
Our Four Step Baptism Process:
1. Sign up
2. Have a Conversation
3. Tell your story
4. Get baptized
Do I have to do a video?
We believe sharing your profession of faith publicly is an essential part of baptism!  We believe every single person has a story worth sharing. We'd love to have a conversation with you about this important step in publicly professing your belief in Jesus. This conversation will help our team determine if recording a video of your story is best for you!
What about infant baptism/christening?
Some churches choose to christen or baptize infants. While we recognize the right of other churches to practice infant baptism, we understand Scripture to teach that only people who have made the decision to follow Jesus should be baptized. Baptism does not make you a Christian. It shows that you already are one.
